Bio
Francis has 10+ years experience in environmental and energy policy, climate change and energy transition, human rights and rural livelihoods, natural resource governance, sustainability and the intersection of these topics. He has lived and worked in multiple locations in the following countries: United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Ghana.
He has provided consultancy services for various governments, communities, and international organizations including, The World Bank, the Government of Sierra Leone, Clean Energy New Hampshire (CENH), Environmental and Energy Technology Council of Maine (E2TECH), CAMFED-Ghana, among others.
Francis has authored and co-authored several scientific papers which have appeared in prominent journals including Journal of Cleaner Production, Resources Policy, Energy Research and Social Science, Environmental Science & Policy, Journal of Environmental Policy and Planning, The Extractive Industries and Society, Business and Human Rights Journal, Natural Resources Forum, Journal of Sustainable Mining, Journal of Global Responsibility, SAGE Open, Journal on Migration and Human Security, and International Journal of Energy Sector Mgt. He has published two book chapters and one co-edited book in Routledge. Francis is also a Reviewer for leading int. journals including, Resources Policy, Natural Resources Forum, Business and Society Review, among others.
He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from Antioch University, preceded by a double Master’s Degree: MSc. in Interdisciplinary Environmental Studies from Antioch University and MSc. in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Energy from The Robert Gordon University. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography & Resource Development with Philosophy from the University of Ghana.
